Tony Cimino-Johnson

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Tony Cimino-Johnson is a national award-winning director, producer, and leader in the arts with more than two decades of experience transforming arts organizations into benchmarks of excellence and innovation. He has directed over 100 productions, founded three nonprofits, and serves as Chief Executive Officer of Northern Virginia Performing Arts. He is a Broadway investor, a published author on theatre education, and a member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.

He holds an MFA in Theatre Education from Mississippi University for Women, a Masters Certificate in Arts Administration from the University of Connecticut, an MA in Drama Therapy from New York University, and a BA in Theatre Arts from McDaniel College. His honors include Northern Virginia’s 40 Under 40, Virginia House Joint Resolution 516, the Tony Awards Inspirational Theatre Teacher Honorable Mention, and induction into the Virginia Thespian Hall of Fame. He shares his home with an amazing rescue greyhound.

Todd Cimino-Johnson

Todd Cimino-Johnson serves as Chief Financial Officer for Northern Virginia Performing Arts and leads People Operations and Compliance.

Katie Hamberger

Director of Education

Katie graduated from the Ballet Method Program, competed and performed with Edge Performance Company, and performed in the Ballet Theatre of Ashburn. She has been choreographing for the competition and performance stage for several years and specializes in storytelling through dance.

Ryyana Cunningham

Teaching Artist

Ryyana is a director, choreographer, designer, and musical theatre coach at NoVAPA. With more than 20 productions to her name, she is dedicated to great storytelling, and she has been part of the Broadway Bound family since 2018.

Colton Sorensen

Technical Director

Colton is a multi-faceted fine artist who works the artistic process from all angles and directions. He specializes in lighting, but also has experience working as an audio and set designer. He is a recent graduate of Southern Virginia University holding a double bachelor’s in Theatre and Music with a concentration in Choral Studies.

He was the Lighting Designer for the world premiere of the new musical “Fly” and serves as the primary arranger for Southern Virginia University’s premiere a cappella group, Accolade. He also brings an extensive acting, musical, and education portfolio, with experience as both a collaborative and private voice teacher.

Katie Rivers, LCSW

Director of Health and Safety

Katie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 30 years of experience in behavior management and counseling. She has been part of the Broadway Bound family since 2016 and looks forward to saying hello and goodbye to every student, every day.

Family Engagement Coordinator

Jen Travis is a customer service, client relations, and operations professional with more than 20 years of experience creating positive, personalized experiences and building lasting relationships. She is passionate about understanding each client’s unique needs, providing thoughtful communication, and ensuring people feel valued, supported, and confident throughout their experience.

With additional expertise in operations, marketing, communications, and audience engagement, Jen brings a well-rounded approach to client satisfaction. Known for her attention to detail, relationship-focused mindset, and commitment to exceptional service, she strives to create seamless experiences while fostering trust and meaningful connections with the clients, families, and organizations she serves.
